Checkmate (Noughts & Crosses #3), by Malorie Blackman (Re-read)

Hey guys, this is Abi here,
And I am 3 quarters of the way through the Noughts & Crosses series!
So, again let's not dawdle, let's get on to the review!

Checkmate (Noughts & Crosses #3), by Malorie Blackman (Re-read)
Title: Checkmate
Author: Malorie Blackman
Genre: YA (Young Adult) and every single other genre.
Release date: 30th June, 2005
Pages: 511
Blurb: Callie Rose never met her father. All she knows is that he was a Nought... and her mother a Cross. Growing up in a world where dual heritage means a life of bitter prejudice, Rose often wonders if she resembles him, if they would have been close... if he would have understood. But as she delves deeper, she discovers a tragic history of violence that has been hidden from her- and is drawn into a dangerous game that can only have one winner.

My Thoughts
Okay, this book is definitely by favourite out of all of them in the series. It just... all the things that you need to make a hit book are in this one. This book has you on the edge of your seat from the start to the finish. And re-reading it changes the experience every single
I don't really want to reveal much as it is the third book in the series, but in this one you get to see Callie Rose grow up and evolve, and also you get to see the relationships that she has with her friends and family.
I also think that the plotline is like a mix of how both Noughts & Crosses, and Knife-edge are written. Like, the plot builds up a lot, like in Knife-edge, but it is just as unpredictable as it was in Noughts & Crosses.
The writing was as good as it's even been. (Outstanding).

So, that is my review for Checkmate, my favourite book in this series! Hope you enjoyed it...
Byeeeee!
